Island sounds were definitely in the air when The Movement & Tropidelic took the stage at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, marking the venue the second stop for their Visions 2026 Tour. Other than the frigid walk reminder from the car to the venue doors, I would not have believed you if you told me it was ten degrees outside with a wind chill below zero.

Following their July 2025 release of "Visions," I would say it was perfecting timing for the tour to hit New Jersey in January. The alt-reggae group blends modern electronic sounds with warm reggae chords to create a party you can't help but nod your head to. Their latest album features collaborations with Stick Figures, The Elovaters, 311, Tribal Seeds, and The Green.

Joining them as a special guest on the tour is Tropidelic. I personally am already a fan of their music having discovered them on Spotify through similar sounds with Little Stranger and The Palmer Squares. Seeing them perform only confirmed their music is just as good live. There’s definitely something about grooving to a smooth song to have it followed with a solid brass section to kick in and really set the tone of the party. The Movement and Tropidelic combined forces to release their latest single together, “Signals,” the perfect compliment of music for the tour giving feels of a tropical interstellar journey.

For a few hours on January 29th, The Movement and Tropidelic transported the the frozen tundra of Asbury Park, NJ to a tropical paradise in the Caribbean.
