After a couple days of rest, Umphrey's McGee continued their Sky's The Limit 2026 Tour in Morristown, NJ at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Having only listened to their music my imagination could picture their shows being very vibrant and visually appealing; and my assumption was correct.

The Chicago-based band has been in music and on stages for nearly 27 years now and is certainly more than just a "jam band." Splitting their show into a two-act performance, the band does more than just jam and play random compositions by taking their audience through stories and vibrant lighting displays with each song. Rather than each song feeling like it's being thrown at you in a list of tracks, Umphrey's McGee does an amazing job to seamlessly blend their show from start to finish. I for one felt like I was sitting through some video game soundtracks, or the score to a wild 80's movie cop chase.

A special kudos goes out to the man running the lights for their show as it truly added a special touch to the experience. As a photographer this feels strange to say, but the photos do not do the displays justice as you just had to be their to see and experience the band on display.
